MUSCAT: The first batch of Karwa buses has been delivered to operators serving concession areas in the Sultanate of Oman, marking a significant milestone in the country’s efforts to modernise and expand its public transport network.
The buses were handed over to transport companies responsible for operating services in designated regions, in a move aimed at enhancing connectivity, improving safety standards and elevating commuter comfort.
The rollout forms part of a broader strategy led by Mwasalat to strengthen public mobility infrastructure and raise service quality across the Sultanate.
Officials said the deployment of the new fleet will help meet rising passenger demand, ensure wider and more efficient route coverage, and contribute to the development of sustainable urban transport solutions.
The initiative aligns with Oman’s long-term transport development plans, which prioritise operational efficiency, reliability and environmental sustainability as the country continues to invest in modern public infrastructure.
