Iran – Iran is set to establish a temporary leadership council today to oversee state affairs following the passing of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The announcement was made by Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, who confirmed that the measure is intended to maintain stability during this period of transition.
This interim body will serve as a foundational authority while the country prepares for the formal selection of a permanent successor to the late Ayatollah. The move is viewed as a critical step in ensuring the continuity of government operations and national security. According to officials, the council will manage high-level decision-making processes until the Assembly of Experts concludes its deliberations regarding the next Supreme Leader.
