DAVOS, Switzerland : Oman and Danish shipping group Maersk discussed ways to deepen cooperation in logistics, transport and supply chains during a meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Omani officials said.

The talks brought together Dr. Saeed bin Mohammed Al Saqri, head of Oman’s delegation to Davos 2026, and Robert Maersk Uggla, chairman of A.P. Moller–Maersk, one of the world’s largest maritime transport and logistics companies.

According to Oman’s Ministry of Economy, the meeting focused on enhancing integration in the logistics and transport sector in line with the rapid growth of international trade, as well as exploring more efficient and secure routing of vessels through the Bab al-Mandab maritime corridor.

Discussions also covered the role of advanced supply chain systems in supporting food security by ensuring the availability of essential goods through warehouses and smart logistics solutions, the ministry said.

Oman highlighted Maersk’s technical expertise in transport and logistics solutions as a potential driver for future partnerships in the region, particularly in infrastructure development and trade facilitation.
