
West Nepal – At least 19 people, including three foreign nationals, have lost their lives after a passenger bus veered off a mountainous road in western Nepal. The vehicle was travelling from the popular tourist town of Pokhara towards the capital, Kathmandu, when the accident occurred before dawn on Monday. According to local police reports, the bus plunged approximately 200m from the road at Behighat in the Dhading district, situated roughly 80 km west of the capital.
The authorities have confirmed that the deceased include citizens from Britain, China, and India. Of the 44 passengers on board, 25 individuals sustained injuries, including nationals from New Zealand , India and China. The survivors are currently receiving medical attention at various hospitals in Kathmandu. In response to the tragedy, the Nepalese government has announced a formal investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
