NEW YORK : YouTube, the world’s largest online video platform, went offline in the United States on Tuesday, with more than 320,000 users reporting outages, according to outage tracking system Downdetector. The disruption affected access to downloads, live streams, and monetisation tools, leaving creators and viewers looking for updates and alternative platforms.
Alphabet, YouTube’s parent company, acknowledged the issue and said its engineers were working to restore service.
The outage sparked widespread discussion online and underscored the critical role of internet services in communication, entertainment, and business. Analysts noted that even a temporary disruption on a major platform can have a ripple effect on advertising, information distribution, and audience engagement, especially in an era where digital media is deeply integrated into daily life.
