Muscat – In a display of unity and pride, around 400 motorcyclists from various governorates of Oman and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries will participate in the Renewed Oman Renaissance Ride in Nizwa, Dakhliyah on Saturday, January 10 to mark the anniversary of the accession of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.

Organised by Nizwa Bikers, in cooperation with Muscat Bikers, with participation of several other motorcycle clubs from Oman and other GCC countries, the event will be flagged off at 10:30am from Nizwa Souq.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Ahmed al Ismaili, Founder and Chairman of Nizwa Bikers, said the ride with participation of bikers not just from Oman but other GCC countries too reflects the pride and loyalty in Oman’s renewed renaissance under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan.

Ismaili said extensive preparations have been undertaken ahead of the event, including exploratory rides, careful study of the route, review of safety requirements, and coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the readiness of participants and smooth conduct of the event.

The route will pass through a number of wilayats in  Dakhliyah, including Al Hamra, Bahla and Manah, before concluding at the Oman Across Ages Museum, where participants will gain insights into the journey of the Omani renaissance and its milestones, and the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

Ismaili added that the initiative is part of ongoing efforts by motorcycle clubs in Oman and the GCC to promote the safe and responsible practice of the sport, support domestic tourism and strengthen GCC participation in national events.

Event organisers stated that the ride is being held in coordination with the concerned authorities to ensure the safety of participants, describing the initiative as a model for integrating sport, tourism and volunteer work in the service of the nation.
