Muscat: The tender, issued via the Esnad platform, covers seven sub-plans that include residential neighbourhoods as well as light and medium industrial areas. Interested and qualified companies have been invited to submit their bids, with the deadline set for February 5.
According to the Authority, the detailed designs for the road network aim to enhance the competitiveness of municipal plans and position them as attractive destinations for commercial and industrial investors operating in Duqm.
The project involves the construction of an internal road network spanning 30.8 km, installation of LED road lighting, development of rainwater drainage channels, box culverts for surface water management, and the implementation of comprehensive traffic safety measures. These plans will also benefit from integrated administrative services in the zone, including one-stop services and electronic facilities provided through Duqm’s digital platform.
The road network forms part of a broader programme by the Authority to raise transport efficiency, strengthen infrastructure, and support economic and social development, while improving connectivity between residential and investment areas.

The initiative aligns with the Cabinet’s decision to assign the Authority responsibility for the development, implementation, and supervision of municipal services and public facilities in the Special Economic Zone of Duqm, under Royal Decree No. (36/2022). This mandate includes municipal licensing and technical services, aimed at stimulating investment in the Wilayat of Duqm and optimising land use in line with current and future development projects.
