Muscat – Under the auspices of H H Sayyida Basma bint Fakhri al Said, a comprehensive women’s health awareness campaign titled “Her Story, Our Voice” is set to commence this Friday at Al Mouj Muscat. The two-day initiative, from February 13th and 14th at 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, represents a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Health, represented by the National Centre for Women and Children’s Health, and several prominent academic and international institutions. Organized by the Medical Students Community (Medsco) from Sultan Qaboos University and the National University of Science and Technology, the event is also supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and various relevant sectors.

The campaign is designed to strengthen partnerships between the health sector and the community while addressing critical aspects of women’s wellbeing. The launch ceremony will be attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Health, academia, and international organisations, underlining the national importance of female health education. Over the course of the weekend, the event will feature thirteen dedicated awareness stations, each meticulously designed to provide expert information on a wide spectrum of medical conditions and health milestones.

Visitors to the campaign will have access to professional guidance on complex reproductive issues such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, and infertility treatments including IVF. The initiative also places a significant emphasis on preventative care, covering cervical and breast cancer screenings, the HPV vaccine, and premarital medical examinations. Furthermore, the stations will address broader health concerns including urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases, and safe pregnancy practices. Recognising that health transcends physical symptoms, the campaign also features dedicated sections for dermatology and women’s mental health across various life stages, including the transition into menopause.
