MUSCAT – Omani low-cost carrier SalamAir said it remains committed to providing affordable air travel options on domestic routes, responding to recent discussions on social media regarding ticket prices on the Muscat–Salalah sector.
In a statement, the airline said it has consistently focused on offering discounted fares as the Sultanate’s national low-cost carrier, noting that it launched promotional offers on Salalah flights in November 2024 with fares starting from RO 9.99. More than 30,000 passengers benefited from these offers during 2025 alone, the airline said.
SalamAir added that it continues to provide reduced fares for domestic travel throughout the year to ensure accessibility for Omani citizens, including during peak travel seasons.
For the Khareef season in Dhofar in 2025, the airline said it capped round-trip ticket prices at RO 48, reaffirming its commitment to facilitating domestic travel and maintaining affordability.
With demand for internal travel rising, SalamAir said it is working to increase operational capacity on domestic routes by adding more flights during the summer, representing an increase of up to 10% compared with last year. The move is aimed at expanding the availability of lower-priced seats and giving passengers more opportunities to secure affordable fares.
