MUSCAT – Oman said on Friday it hosted separate consultations with Iranian and U.S. delegations as part of efforts to support the resumption of diplomatic negotiations on Iran’s nuclear programme.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi held separate meetings with the Iranian delegation led by Abbas Araghchi and the U.S. delegation headed by President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and Trumps’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
The consultations focused on preparing appropriate conditions to restart diplomatic and technical negotiations, while underscoring the importance of dialogue amid a shared desire by all parties to achieve outcomes that support sustainable security and stability, the ministry said.

In a separate statement, Albusaidi reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to continuing its role in facilitating dialogue and bridging differences between parties, working with regional and international partners to reach consensus-based political solutions.
He also expressed appreciation for the efforts of regional countries supporting the talks, noting that Oman’s mediation aims to align with the objectives and expectations of all sides involved.
Oman has long played a discreet mediating role between Iran and the United States, hosting back-channel discussions during periods of heightened regional tension.
