MUSCAT – Khalid bin Issa Al Amri, Acting Director General of Consumer Services and Market Monitoring at the CPA, said that the recalls included 20,490 vehicles. The recalls were prompted by various technical issues identified in warnings, which could potentially affect consumer health and safety, necessitating preventive action to maintain public confidence in the market.

Recalls in the consumer goods sector involved 9,253 products, including items such as Anker power banks, BELKIN wireless portable chargers, Dunlop and Otani tires, and a black garlic chopper. Al Amri emphasised that the Authority continuously monitors all products and services in the Sultanate to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards and to safeguard consumer rights.

The CPA also issued five warnings related to electrical and electronic appliances and seven warnings across other sectors, bringing the total number of warnings issued in 2025 to 12.

These initiatives form part of the CPA’s ongoing efforts to protect consumer rights, enhance public health and safety, and ensure the quality of goods and services in Oman. They also align with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which prioritizes consumer safety, confidence in local markets, and adherence to international quality standards, contributing to a competitive economy and a safe, sustainable society.
