Muscat – Muscat Municipality is intensifying its efforts to put the final touches in place for Muscat Nights 2026, which begins on Thursday, January 1 and runs till January 31, 2026. Teams are working around the clock to ensure a smooth and well-organised start to one of the capital’s most anticipated annual events.

Organisers, including administrators, technicians and volunteers, are operating across eight key venues, shaping a cultural and entertainment experience designed to appeal to residents and visitors of all ages.

Festival venues have effectively transformed into open-air work sites, where coordination teams move in harmony to ensure every detail proceeds according to plan. The sound of equipment blends with on-site instructions, reflecting the scale of the effort being undertaken to deliver a launch befitting the festival’s growing stature on the local events calendar.

Muscat Daily’s photographer was on the ground documenting these preparations, capturing moments of continuous fieldwork by municipal teams as stages are assembled, lighting systems installed, public spaces arranged and decorative elements added. The images highlight the strong sense of readiness and collaboration ahead of the opening night.

This year, Muscat Nights stretches across the city, with each location offering its own distinct narrative. At Qurum Natural Park, light, water and nature come together in a vibrant open setting, while Amerat Public Park hosts the Heritage Village, reviving traditional Omani identity through handicrafts, folk arts and local cuisine in an immersive outdoor environment.

The Oman Automobile Association venue will feature circus performances alongside interactive educational activities, allowing children to explore scientific roles and professions, discover simplified presentations on astronomy and space, and take part in creative art workshops such as drawing, colouring and handicrafts, all within an integrated entertainment and learning setting designed to nurture imagination.

Meanwhile, the Royal Opera House Muscat will host Fashion Week, welcoming a number of international designers who will present fashion shows blending artistic creativity, modernity and cultural identity, adding a refined artistic dimension to the festival programme.

Along the coastline, Seeb Beach at Sur al Hadid will receive visitors with its open atmosphere and maritime energy, serving as a sports hub for beach football and volleyball tournaments, morning fitness sessions along the shoreline, and friendly open competitions aimed at strengthening community interaction and participation.

Quriyat will contribute its local character and geographical charm, while Wadi al Khoudh becomes a centre for adventure and youth-focused activities. The venue will host professional car drifting shows, along with outdoor adventure experiences such as ziplining and other interactive activities that combine challenge, movement and excitement.

Muscat Nights 2026 is expected to attract wide public interest throughout January, reaffirming its position as a major annual festival that brings together culture, entertainment and sport, while showcasing the vibrancy and diversity of Muscat’s tourism and cultural landscape.
