On a monthly basis, December 2025 recorded the highest average price for 24-karat gold at RO 52.85 per gram, while January saw the lowest at RO 33.2.

In contrast to rising prices, imports of raw and semi-processed gold declined by 15.6 percent during 2025, reaching RO 278.9 million, down from RO 330.3 million in 2024. The United Arab Emirates remained the leading exporter of gold to Oman, followed by the Republic of Sudan.

On the export front, gold exports from Oman declined significantly to RO 98.7 million in 2025, compared to RO 189.3 million in 2024, with the United Arab Emirates accounting for the largest share of exports.

Conversely, silver exports saw notable growth, exceeding RO 92,000 in 2025, up from just RO 844 in 2024. These exports were primarily directed to countries including the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and Yemen.

The sector also witnessed expansion in business activity, with the number of gold and jewelry retail establishments rising to 820 in 2025 from 785 in 2024. Additionally, establishments involved in manufacturing silver craft products increased to 21 from 9 in the previous year.

Employment in gold and silver-related activities reached 5,313 workers in 2025, with the majority engaged in gold and jewelry retail, followed by gold and silver crafting. Male workers constituted the largest share of the workforce.
