Moscow, Russia – The Kremlin has announced that a significant security breach occurred overnight involving a series of unmanned aerial vehicles targeting the official state residence in the Novgorod region. According to official statements from Moscow, a total of 91 long-range drones were detected on a flight path towards the Valdai complex, a heavily fortified estate frequently used by President Vladimir Putin. Russian defence officials confirmed that all incoming craft were intercepted and successfully neutralised by sophisticated air defence batteries positioned around the perimeter of the residence.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov described the incident as a grave act of state-sanctioned terrorism and warned that such a direct provocation would necessitate a revision of Russia’s current diplomatic stance. Despite the scale of the reported incursion, authorities confirmed that no casualties were sustained and there was no structural damage to the property. While the Kremlin has not explicitly confirmed the President’s location at the time of the event, the incident has prompted an immediate review of security protocols across all high-profile government installations.

International observers have noted that this development occurs during a period of intense geopolitical sensitivity. The Kremlin has already indicated that specific targets for a retaliatory response have been identified, further escalating tensions. Meanwhile, independent verification of the event remains limited as military analysts examine satellite data to determine the origin and trajectory of the aerial hardware used in the alleged strike.
