MUSCAT : Oman’s 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026–2030) is expected to generate 300,000 job opportunities across the public and private sectors, with an average of 60,000 jobs created annually, His Excellency Dr. Said Al Saqri, the economy minister said on Thursday.

Speaking on the employment targets under the plan, the minister said the strategy builds on earlier labour market initiatives and is aimed at expanding opportunities for citizens as the sultanate pushes ahead with economic diversification.

“Of the total jobs expected during the plan period, 175,000 employment opportunities have already been provided, with the remaining positions to be created progressively through to 2030”, the minister said.

The employment drive will be supported by growth in priority sectors, increased private sector participation and continued reforms designed to improve workforce readiness and productivity.
