MUSCAT : Emergency teams in Oman have rescued and evacuated 404 people as authorities intensified search and rescue operations in response to ongoing severe weather conditions, according to the Oman News Agency.

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority said it handled 254 emergency reports, leading to large-scale rescue and evacuation efforts across multiple affected regions.

Air support played a key role, with a total of 44 sorties conducted since the onset of the weather system. Of these, 38 were carried out by the Royal Oman Police Aviation and six by the Royal Air Force of Oman.

The aerial missions supported 58 rescue operations and facilitated six medical evacuations, underscoring the scale and urgency of the response.
