MUSCAT – Oman has stressed the urgent need to halt military operations in the region, describing a ceasefire as a “top priority” to restore security and stability, during talks with European Union ambassadors in Muscat, state media reported on Tuesday.

Oman’s Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi presented the Sultanate’s perspective on the latest developments and ongoing events, underscoring that ending military action was essential to prevent further escalation and contain the fallout from the conflict.

The discussions took place during a meeting in Muscat with ambassadors of European Union member states accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, according to the Oman News Agency.

Al Busaidi outlined Oman’s diplomatic efforts aimed at addressing the challenges arising from the war and its repercussions across the region. He reiterated Muscat’s longstanding position that dialogue and political solutions remain the only viable path toward sustainable peace.

Oman has maintained active engagement with regional and international partners in recent days as tensions have intensified, positioning itself as a proponent of de-escalation and negotiated settlement.
