MUSCAT: As regional airspace disruptions continue to impact flight operations across the Gulf, Oman-based airlines — Oman Air and SalamAir have stepped in with alternative travel arrangements, offering integrated bus transfers from Sharjah to Muscat to assist stranded passengers in the UAE.
With partial resumption of flights in the UAE and wider GCC airspace restrictions still affecting schedules, road transport has emerged as a critical transit solution for travellers seeking onward international connections.
Oman Air announced integrated bus services from Sharjah (SHJ) to Muscat (MCT) between March 3 and March 5, 2026, enabling passengers to connect to onward flights from Muscat to destinations including India and beyond.
According to the airline’s published schedule, two bus services will operate daily:
• WY2605 – Departing Sharjah at 7:00am, arriving in Muscat at 3:00pm
• WY2612 – Departing Sharjah at 1:00pm, arriving in Muscat at 9:00pm
Departures will take place from Al Jubail Bus Station (Muwasalat) in Sharjah, a major public transport hub with passenger facilities including waiting areas and retail outlets.
Passengers requiring an Oman visa have been advised to complete their applications in advance through official channels prior to travel. Travellers are also requested to arrive at the bus station at least 30 minutes before departure.
Meanwhile, SalamAir confirmed via its official communication channels that it will also operate dedicated bus transfers from Sharjah to Muscat between March 3 and March 5. The airline indicated services will run in both morning and evening windows to facilitate onward travel, providing flexibility for affected passengers.
The coordinated road-air integration reflects efforts by Omani carriers to mitigate the impact of regional aviation disruptions and ensure connectivity for residents and transit travellers in the UAE.
With uncertainty over the full reopening of regional airspace, transport operators are expected to continue offering alternative routing solutions in the coming days.
