MUSCAT : Reinforcing its persistent commitment to social responsibility and national solidarity, Sohar International has announced a dedicated relief contribution of OMR 100,000 to support communities impacted by the recent severe weather conditions brought on by the Al-Masarrat low-pressure system. The contribution will be channelled through the Oman Charitable Organization, reinforcing national relief efforts aimed at assisting those impacted by the adverse weather conditions and helping affected communities recover from the resulting challenges.

Commenting on the initiative, Abdulwahid Mohamed Al Murshidi, Chief Executive Officer of Sohar International said, “At Sohar International, our purpose extends beyond financial services to encompass a deeper responsibility towards the communities we serve. The recent impact of the Al-Masarrat weather system has highlighted the critical importance of collective action and timely intervention. Through this contribution, we aim to support national relief efforts in a way that is both immediate and sustainable, helping affected families regain stability and rebuild their lives. We firmly believe that institutions have a vital role to play in strengthening societal resilience, particularly during challenging times. As such, we remain committed to standing alongside the nation, working collaboratively with trusted partners to contribute to recovery efforts, while continuously advancing initiatives that create long-term social value and community well-being.”

The recent weather conditions have disrupted livelihoods across several regions, highlighting the importance of coordinated national efforts to safeguard communities and accelerate recovery. In response, Sohar International’s initiative underscores its proactive approach to corporate social responsibility, rooted in a broader vision of fostering resilience, inclusivity, and sustainable community development.

This contribution reflects Sohar International’s long-standing commitment to addressing urgent societal needs and emphasizes its dedication to standing alongside communities in times of need. By partnering with trusted national entities, the Bank ensures that its interventions deliver tangible impact, emphasizing its role as a responsible corporate institution that goes beyond banking. Through this initiative, Sohar International continues to drive meaningful change, strengthen social cohesion, and support the Sultanate’s sustainable development objectives, demonstrating a commitment that extends beyond immediate relief to fostering long-term resilience and prosperity.
