Abu Dhabi: Local fuel prices are directly affected by the recent spike in international oil prices, which have approached $115 per barrel.
Due to the UAE’s deregulated pricing structure, domestic gasoline and diesel prices are updated monthly using worldwide averages. This makes drivers susceptible to changes in global oil prices, as even a slight shift in global oil markets is swiftly reflected at the pump.
Although an increase seems likely, analysts speculate that the final price change might not be drastic. After recent volatility, oil prices have shown some signs of stabilising, which could limit how much fuel prices rise.
Depending on how late-month averages settle, prices may occasionally stay close to March levels or only marginally rise. Experts caution that ongoing uncertainties in the global energy markets may still impact pricing decisions.
