Muscat: A graduation ceremony was held at the military parade ground of the Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences in Nizwa for multiple cohorts, including the 58th batch of specialist officer candidates, the 57th batch of university-study officer candidates, the 12th batch of service-system officer candidates, and officers who completed skills development and qualification courses. The graduating officers also included personnel from the Internal Security Service, Royal Court Affairs, and the State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution.

The graduates specialised across a wide range of strategic and technical fields, including aviation engineering, marine navigation, geophysics, logistics, geographic information systems, biotechnology, supply chain management, fire and chemical engineering, cybersecurity, criminology and criminal justice, as well as command and control under the Royal British Schools of Music Diploma.

The ceremony began with a salute to the patron, followed by an inspection of the parade and a military march-past by the graduating officers. Awards were presented to top-performing graduates, after which the academy’s flag was formally handed over from the 57th batch of university-study officer candidates to the 48th batch of bachelor’s-degree officer candidates. The ceremony concluded with the graduates reciting the Royal Oman Police anthem “Guardians of the Right”, taking the oath of allegiance, and chanting their loyalty to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.

Adding to the celebrations, the Royal Oman Police Cavalry Parade staged a special display, while the Royal Oman Police Band performed a selection of musical pieces.

The event also witnessed the announcement of the Royal Oman Police Awards for 2025. The North Sharqiyah Governorate Police Command secured first place in the Traffic Safety Competition for exemplary conduct and commitment. The Sultan Qaboos Academy for Police Sciences topped the Royal Oman Police Pedestrian Competition, while the Muscat Governorate Police Command won first place in the Criminal Investigation Competition.

In the Security Research Competition themed “Security and Sustainable Development in Light of Oman Vision 2040,” first place was awarded to Dr. Moza bint Abdullah Al-Muqbali and Dr. Yusra bint Mohammed Al-Mughairi for their study on strengthening the Royal Oman Police’s role in sustainable development and national security. Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ali bin Khalfan Al-Hinai secured second place, followed by Khalisa bint Hamad Al-Naabi in third place for research highlighting community participation in enhancing security and sustainable development.
