BEIJING – Brent crude futures rose $4.88, or 4.8 percent, to $106.04 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude climbed $4.17, or 4.2 percent, to $104.29 a barrel.
The surge comes amid growing concerns over global supply disruptions. On Wednesday, the head of the International Energy Agency warned that these disruptions could begin to affect Europe’s economy in April.
